There are a pair of mongooses scurrying about between the rocks. We cant see them but my friend tells me he can hear the clucking of your tongues. Are there snakes nearby? But if mongooses are around, should we worry about the snakes? Somebody must’ve released these snakes in our neighbourhood. Someone who wants the food cycle to be forcefully re-wound. There are no peacocks on this side to give company to the snakes. The dogs tend to scare them away, along with the nilgais. A private security guard patrols the region, to prevent the animals from entering the warden’s garden. He should be called Nilgai-man, distant brother of Neil Gaiman.
